Had an interesting night. Went to my favorite restaurant, Ichiban in Boca. Well, my favorite in the area anyway. We were celebrating Tisha's birthday. It went well, and afterwards, we decided to head over to the Boca Boomers for some mini-chilli-golf. That was fun too, and they didn't turn the lights off on us this time. I was in the lead for a while, but really screwed up on the 15th hole, and tied for second place. Ahh, well. It was still kinda fun. Now, I am home, and about to go to bed. Friday night, and I am ready to get to bed earlier than any other day this week where I have to be at work in the morning. That just isn't right. But anyway.

   Work was busy today. All I can say about that is that I HATE QMAIL!!!!! It has GOT to be one of the WORSE software packages people use on a Unix-based system. The dang thing won't even compile unpatched if you are using a newer glibc! But I don't want to get into it, it just frustrates me. It's working now. It just took me more than an hour to set up. Then came my big mistake... "rpm rpm -e --nodeps sendmail". Yup, I typed rpm twice. What did that do? Remove RPM. Granted, I hate RPM, but that is the reason we are sticking to DunceCap at all. Personally, I am going the way of Gentoo. Woops. But they needed that box online right away. So, I hope we are not doing any updates on it soon. I'll have to reinstall RPM manually later, or just rebuild it again. Whatever, I don't care. If I can't admin the boxed completely the way I want to, then they are not my babies - they are someone else's, and thus, my heart is not in it. Hell, it runs qmail, I deninitely am not thrilled about that. That reminds me about a post I wanted to do about Java and it's influence and my feelings about that. Perhaps soon, I'm not in the mood now.
