A good night with Dad, and some work stuff I just can't leave out
Today was an interesting day at work, but I'll get back to that... After work, my Dad called and asked me to come by for dinner. So, I took I95, and it wasn't that bad today. At least not since it was after 6pm. He made me some dinner, and we watched some TV and had a good time, and had a good talk about all kinds of things including politics, which usually gives me a headache, but we don't argue it. Saw a special on a new extreme pyramid building in Tokyo Bay as well. And now I'm getting rather tired. So, read on if you want to know what happened at work... Work today was different. There's been a bit of activity lately, so at least I'm not bored. I started the day in a meeting reviewing the trouble tickets. No mention of the server that went down last night. Just talk about my previous ticket talking about how we had to re-run a batch job because "the database was down or something" over the weekend. "Or something"? Well, gee, I knew WHY, but I wasn't about to recap in another ticket. NO WIRELESS KEYBOARDS! heh.. Anyway.. Also, there was a work lunch. Free food! So, I went to P.F.Chang's and had the orange chicken. I tell you, it was an awesome lunch! Yummy! And it kept me out of the office for a little more than I usually take. At least the shreadder was taking a break today. The computer rep still refuses to replace the motherboard of a server I have lost all confidence in. Ugh.. The best part was us trying to get access to the NetApp. Noone knows the password. The security guy gave us a sheet with old passwords, and had torn off the password part, except for the NetWorks or something thing. He shreadded the rest. Well, it didn't take long for me to point out that it didn't say "NetApp", and thus was for some winbox. A few hours later, he comes back with this taped up piece of confetti paper! It was great! heh.. At least there is a little comedy relief now and then! Oh, and no, we still haven't gotten into the NetApp.
